It’s almost Cow Day!

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

I can feel it in the air, I’m starting to moo….
For those of you who DON’T know what Cow Appreciation day is, I will tell you so you can start moo-ing every year at this time!
Chik-fil-a has a day (this year, July 9th) where you can get a free combo meal (any one!) if you dress like a cow. We’ve done it for 4 years in a row and my kids love it. It doesn’t have to be elaborate! Although some people DO go all out! Here’s what we do/have done:
1. Take white t-shirts that are old or have ripped a little that we don’t care about, and paint black spots on them.
2. Once, we took black shirts and cut out circles of white paper and safety pinned the circles on the black shirt.
3. We make paper ears (imagine an indian headband from first grade with feathers on it….only ears) and paper tails that we staple to the back of the shirt to hang down like a tail.
4. We wear pants/shorts that are black or white.
5. The kids usually paint their faces with old halloween paint or smudge my mascara on their faces.

They are at the age where this is fun, and YES, my husband and I dress up too (although my husband has refused the tail). We all eat completely for free. Now, if you don’t do much, just wear black and white or something simple, you can get a free entree. But if you do like we did at least, you will get a free combo meal. And in case you are wondering if the place is packed…we always go for dinner and it’s not. I can’t vouch for lunch time though.
Happy moo-ing!

IC Coupons!

Tuesday, May 18th, 2010

Internet Coupons are now easier!  In the past, Coupon Sense has told you what site to get a coupon from, but NOW, you just click right on IC to the left of the description, and it takes you to the print page, you push print, and you are done!internet-cpn-screen-shot1

Huggies at Fry’s AND Fred Meyer West Coast

Tuesday, May 18th, 2010

There were $2 off Pull Ups Coupons in last Sunday’s paper, plus as many of you probably get in the mail from Huggies (if not, go to www.huggies.com and do a free registration for coupons), there are regular diaper coupons for $2 off as well! So….

Huggies & Pull Ups are $8.99 on sale. Use the coupon, pay $6.99 each. Buy TWO, because it will trigger a $3 off your next purchase coupon. If you factor that in, the diapers are only $5.49 a pack.
If you get multiple papers, you can turn around and do the deal again, this time using the $3 off coupon plus the 2 $2 coupons.

Decent deal for Huggies!

Going out to eat soon?

A new restaurant.com code! I’ve used this site many times and love to buy the gift certificates when they are 80% off, like right now. Then I get a gift certificate for only $2! Here is an example:
We went to a place called Jackson’s Peak (I think it was called!) in Cave Creek. I had bought the gift certificate for $2.
$53 Total for our two entrees and drinks (it’s kind of pricey but tasty)
-$25 gift certificate
$28 paid the waitress
dinner cost $30 if you factor in the $2 I paid when I bought the certificate. Plus tip of course….but for this fancy place it was worth it! Great for buying certificates in cities you will be traveling too as well.

The new code is ENJOY and this offer ends Thursday. You can use the certificates for up to a year though!

My Week So Far

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010

Coupon Sense just updated how they input internet coupons, and it is SOOO much easier to see the deals and print the internet coupons. Regular newspaper coupons are the same but internet ones are so quick now! Yahoo!

Anyway…I really wanted to brag about my shopping today. I woke up, stayed in my PJ’s, spent 30 minutes on the computer making my shopping list and perusing the deals, another 15-20 minutes clipping coupons from my bin, and then I finally got dressed and hit 2 stores! I was back less than an hour later. Here’s what I got:

3 Pure Protein Bars
3 Sunny D Punch
6 Betty Crocker Potato pouches
3 Green Giant Steamers
4 Betty Crocker Suddenly Salad
3 Yoplait Greek yogurts
6 Vitamin Water
6 cans of Dole Pineapple
2 Farmer John Bacon
1 16oz Daisy Sour Cream
1 En-Cor entree (family size)
3 packages of Blackberries from Produce
1 gallon Milk
4 packs of Yo-Plus yogurt 4 count pks
4 boxes of Go-Gurt
1 box of Bisquick
2 bottles of Downy Fabric Softener 44oz
4 pounds Boneless, skinless chicken breast

My total for all this was $34.69 for 57 items. I saved $137.34. So, in about 2 hours of time I saved that much, it’s like a job that pays me almost $70 an hour…..absolutely worth it!

Great time to be a CS member

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

I was glancing at this week’s deals on the coupon sense website, and realized that the math is easy:

CS membership= $14 per mo
AZ Rep 2 ea Sunday= $14 per mo (with our special deal)

Total= $28 invested.

Now look at the Savings from Fry’s freebies alone:

Let’s say you got (multiples of 2 based on Internet Coupon limits and the fact that I put the subscription with 2 papers above)

2 Dial hand soap pumps
2 pouches of Bumble bee tuna
2 Ronzoni Smart Taste pasta
2 Country Crock spreadable tubs
2 Tobasco Sauce
2 Chicken Fast Fixins
2 4pk Angel Soft Toilet Paper (usually Fry’s Marketplaces don’t carry these, just reg. Fry’s)

Total= 14 free items in one shopping trip—this doesn’t even count the other good/great deals; this is ONLY the freebies! So you pay for half of the cost of the month’s “fees” in a partial shopping trip (I assume you’d get a few more items while there, other good deals)

Of course, if you have a larger family more newspapers is the key to stocking up and saving more. Please don’t hesitate to call me to sign up for Coupon Sense! I’m happy to do a phone workshop too. Happy Shopping!

Need an ink refill???

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010

I’m happy about Walgreens this week! My plan:

Go on THURSDAY the 22nd so I can use the $1 ink jet refill coupon (in ad). I’ve used the refill services at Walgreens before, but never paid just $1! In honor of Earth day they are doing that.

I will also use their in-ad coupon for reusable shopping bags for 3 for $1. Great price.

I will get the Nature’s Bounty Vitamin D that is $5 and get $5 back in Register Rewards. There also have been 2 coupons published in the AZ Rep for $1 off, so this is actually a money maker!

I will get Kotex U tampons/pads for $3.49 and get $2.50 RR, but since there were coupons in last Sunday’s paper, I will get them for FREE!

It’s a good week in my opinion–grab those ink cartridges and head over on THURSDAY (only day for ink cpn)

:)
