July 4th Plan

Thursday, June 30th, 2011

I’m making my plan of attack for this weekend–and thought I’d share with all of you!  This isn’t all of the deals out there….just the ones my family with take advantage of.  I usually only go to 2 stores a week.  However, this time I’m going to do a sweep of all 4 stores.  I know it will take me less than 2 hours….probably just a little over an hour since all the stores are very close to each other.  When I go to the store I have my list ready, and the coupons ready, so it’s not a long process.  Here’s my plan.  I have a pantry to pull from for many things, so I don’t need ALL that much :)

Beverages:

Pepsi/Coke  12pks 5 for $10 @ Fry’s

Country Time Lemonade powder .99 (part of promo) @ Fry’s

Capri Suns 1.49 (buy 8 promo) @ Albertson’s

Oscar Mayer Hot Dogs, Buy one, get 2 free @ Safeway

Pork Ribs, buy one, get 2 free @ Alby’s

Chicken breast, 1.67 per lb @ Alby’s

Whole seedless watermelon, 15 cents per lb @ Basha’s

Roma tomatoes .77 per lb @ Fry’s

Want multiple Sunday papers (translation= extra coupons)?

Coupon Sense has a relationship with the Arizona Republic and I can lock you in for a low rate on the paper!  There are 2 options:

  • Those of you who want the paper every day, but want to add extra Sun editions
  • Those of you who want the minimum they offer, plus extra Sun editions

The minimum paper subscription is: Wed, Fri, Sat & Sun (up to 6 copies on Sun).  Why?  I’ve been told it has to do with advertising.  The Arizona Republic gets more money from advertisers if they have more readers on other days of the week.

Here are the rates:

The 4 day option with….

2 Sun copies= $15.08 per month

3 Sun copies= $19.72 per month

4 Sun copies= $24.36 per month

5 Sun copies= $29.00 per month

6 Sun copies= $33.64 per month

The 7 day option with….

2 Sun copies= $23.66 per month

3 Sun copies= $28.31 per month

4 Sun copies= $32.94 per month

5 Sun copies= $37.58 per month

6 Sun copies= $42.23 per month

So, doing the math (just counting the Sun editions in my calculations, as that’s the important part, right?), I see that most months have 4 Sunday, which is 24 papers per month, for less than $34.  At the newsstand they are $2 a piece, which would be $48 for the same amount.  A good savings, and delivered to me!  PLUS, the Republic does NOT guarantee coupons in the store bought papers, only for delivery (certain weekends, like Christmas and Easter, do not have coupons though).

Just call me to sign up for the paper….602-628-0679

Load-to-card coupons

Wednesday, May 4th, 2011

It’s easy to forget about the e-coupons that you can load to your loyalty cards!  Many stores have them these days.  Here’s my advice on them:

  • Try to visit the sites about once a month to “reload” coupons to your card
  • Count them as a “bonus”….since I’ve found that sometimes they will not trigger at the register as promised, but sometimes they will….they are not consistent.  So, I just consider them a “bonus” if they come off, and don’t get the item ONLY if I’m counting on them to work.
  • When loading to the card, why not load all of them?  There’s no limit, so just choose them all, load to card, and do it again next month!

Remember, there is only one deal (unless stated otherwise) per item loaded.  Example: If I load a 50 cent off Tide e-coupon to my Fry’s card, that is for ONE bottle of Tide.  If I buy 3 bottles, it is still just the .50 savings.

Here are the ones I like the best:

www.frysfood.com (log in to load digital coupons to your card)

www.shortcuts.com

www.cellfire.com (haven’t used this one in a while, but used to)

www.safeway.com (if you always use your phone number at Safeway, you may have to call customer service to find out your actual card number to load these)

www.P&Gbrandsaver.com (sign up for free newsletter and they will send you physical coupons, plus you can then log in to download coupons to your cards)

Time to spruce up the yard!

Here is the link

Lowe’s is doing a “Spring Black Friday” sale, good only until 5/2.  Online only, but glancing at the participating items, it looks like a good deal if you garden!  Plus the banner says free shipping if you spend over $49.

Great time to try Coupon Sense!

Monday, April 18th, 2011

If you’ve been wanting to try Coupon Sense, now’s the time!  I’m offering 2 free inserts of coupons (those booklets that come in the newspaper) to anyone who signs up between April 18th and April 20th at midnight.  Since these are coming from “my own stash” of coupons, I have a limited amount on hand, that’s why I can only offer that for 3 days.  Come on, join now…I’ll send you some of my personal coupons :)   Just put in the code AZGURU in the Coupon Sense promo code box when you sign up.  As always, you can call or email me with questions along the way.  I want you to be successful!
