Below is a list of common questions people ask about Coupons and Coupon Sense. If you can't find the answer to your question then contact me and maybe we'll add it to the list.
Do people really save 50% to 70% on their grocery bills using Coupon Sense?
Yes. At first as you learn new habits and stock up on sale items you might not make 50% savings, but my job is to get you up to that level as quickly as possible and prove the value of smart shopping.
What am I signing up for?
You will be signing up for a subcribtion to Coupon Sense which gives you all the benefits shown on my couponsense page. What I will tell you now is that if you want to save the most money for the least amount of work - a membership with couponsense can make it happen. Instead of spending hours looking through your weekly grocery ads and trying to match the coupons yourself, just visit the Coupon Sense website and create your custom shopping list. It does ALL the work for you. Here is a blog entry on my typical weekly shopping experience using Coupon Sense so you can see how simple it really is.
Am I tied to a contract if I sign up, and do you make me pay to cancel it?
No. You are free to cancel your membership at anytime with no penalty.
How do I get coupons?
Coupon inserts are included in the Sunday and Wednesday edition of the Arizona Republic newspaper. They come in insert packets which hold hundreds of coupons for a vast variety of products. What I would also advise is that you will save the MAX amount if you receive multiple Sunday newspapers (this way you can use mutliple coupons when a product is at a really cheap price, this will allow you to buy several instead of just one to stock up). Remember you can contact me to get multiple papers at my discounted rate of $1 each
Am I going to spend 20 minutes at the checkout?
No. You might spend a minute longer but that minute generally saves me around 50% on the store price. On a $100 shop that's $50 saved for spending that extra minute.
How do I organize my coupons?
Many people think organizing coupons involves hours of clipping and sorting, but this is the OLD way of couponing! Coupon Sense uses a filing system that saves you lots of time. Once you sign up you begin learning how to label your coupons - you can also view my tutorial on how this works. Every week couponsense assigns a simple code to the coupon inserts which you write on the front. These codes are then referenced on the coupon sense shopping lists so you can quickly locate those coupons and take them to the store.
Do I have to spend hours looking for coupons?
No. The Coupon Sense website tells you exactly how to find the coupons you need for the items you want and you just cut them out of the paper. Something which took hours out of everyone's day simply wouldn't be worth the hassle.
Will I still be able to buy the groceries and brands I like?
Yes. Smart Shopping with Coupon Sense can be used on any grocery list and will still save you money. While being more flexible about brands will naturally increase the number of coupons and sales available, many of the coupons are for big name brands who use coupons as a means of advertising.
What is so smart about smart shopping with coupon sense?
Smart Shopping uses the same economic strategy as successful stores like wal-mart and safeway: Buy low, buy lots, and think long-term. Given that we all buy many of the same items each week, why not stock up when non-perishable items are on sale and ignore them at full price. Saves both time and money in the long run.
